The Personal Data Protection Bill (PDP Bill), introduced in the Lok Sabha in December 2019 and subsequently referred to a Joint Select Committee, is setting rules for how personal data should be stored and processed. The bill also enumerates individual rights over personal data, and exceptions thereto.
